NEIGHBORHOOD NATIONAL BANK'S CEO BOB ADKINS AWARDED CALIFORNIA INDEPENDENT BANKER OF THE YEAR FOR 2006

SAN DIEGO, CA — February 1, 2007— In recognition of exemplary service to the community and industry, Bob Adkins, President and CEO of Neighborhood National Bank, was awarded the 2006 California Independent Banker of the Year on December 14, 2006.  With 30 years in the industry and joining NNB just over five years ago, Adkins has rightfully earned the respect of his colleagues and the support of his community.

Founded in the mid 80’s with the goal to break away from the associations dominated by mega-banking institutions, California Independent Bankers formed to increase representation of the west coast and pursue the interest of independent community bankers.  NNB, a community development bank, serves on the CIB board and helps to represent the needs of the underserved communities in San Diego.  Hard work in this arena has paid off for Neighborhood National Bank as it begins another successful year and celebrates its ten year anniversary throughout 2007.

“Under his able leadership, he has defined Neighborhood National Bank’s role as an outstanding community development financial institution, nurturing the economic growth of the underserved families and small businesses of southeast San Diego,” NNB chairman of the board Bob McGill stated.  “We’d all like to thank Bob for upholding and promoting the true values of independent banking and our community, and look forward to his leadership in this milestone year.”

Prior to joining Neighborhood National Bank, Adkins held executive positions at numerous banking institutions throughout Southern California.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Independent Bankers, as well as the San Diego Blood Bank. For years, he has served on the California State University-Los Angeles Foundation Board and was a Commissioner on the Mayor and Council Members Salary Commission for the City of Riverside.

Through Adkins’ vision and leadership, the bank continues to thrive and his team continues to grow.  NNB announced the promotion of Summer Yousif, who on November 1, 2006 was promoted from Loan Processor to Business Loan Officer.  Brett Pivoriunas, AVP Loan Officer, came to NNB in December 2006, and Wendy Williams, VP/Marking & Development Manager join the ranks in October of 2006.
